"The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork. . . .The law of the LORD is perfect . . . more to be desired that gold!"  In this painting I am also considering the "line that has gone out through the earth and their words to the end of the world."  Line/voice may refer to sound/frequency and God's Word creating and holding all things together, Col.1:15ff. The triune God, who is One, entered time and space which He created out of water. He came to redeem it. Emmanuel!     12 x 12 inches oil and wax on panel We are voyagers traveling through time. Like the God-man, Jesus who after creating heaven and earth and time and space entered his creation at the Incarnation. His resurrection and rescue are the reason for hope as we journey toward eternity.
  • The Lame Will Walk

    12 x 12 inches encaustic on panel This piece is about our earthly frailty. In the lower part of the painting is a crutch and spheres that look like blood cells. We long for a new resurrected bodies (above) where we see a covering that looks like skin. It will be a new creation, a new body that will not die. I Corinthians 15:42 tells of our resurrected bodies. "For what is sown is perishable, what is raised is imperishable. What is sown in weakness, is raised in power. This perishable body must put on the imperishable and this mortal body must put on immortality...Death is swallowed up in victory!"

If we deny him and do not speak of his glory, the creation will! Read Colossians 1 : 15 ff. It tells us that Jesus ,who said these words, created all things and hold all things together by his almighty power.

The title is taken from Hebrews 2:14 which tells of Jesus, who left the glory of heaven to take the punishment of death for sinful mankind. His sacrifice put everything in subjection to him, even death. It is framed in a black floater frame.

  • This 12 x 12 inch encaustic painting includes several themes that I have been exploring, which begin with the image of a rib cage taken from a thick textbook of x-ray images. I called the series "Temple Series/ Learning to Breathe." Each piece is also named. This piece is about "Shelter," and was also named, "The House of My Soul," relating to another series of paintings.
