My Incarnation Series has been inspired by Suzanne Rhodes Advent poem. The first line of this poem is the title of  a second painting in this series. The needle is central in this painting. The Son of God is the “rich man” from heaven who came “to stitch the human breach.” He is in the dark lower half of the painting where skulls and death are. But this God/man connects heaven and earth and has received the crown of glory. Perhaps the circular shape is his wedding ring as he gathers his bride to glory.
