This very new painting recalls the large Fisherman Commission I did exactly ten years ago. Since then I have delved into the Biblical truths of the God who not only created the world by water, but came into his creation “on the waters of time.” Both series, The One Who Came On the Waters of Time, and The Nets of God/ Vessels are represented in this painting.

In between the large vessel descending  from the sky to the vessel on the stormy sea, is the Incarnation. God the Father is holding God the Son, whose body forms a crucifixion. He turns his head to look at the Father. “Now once at the consummation of ages, God sent his Son,” Hebrews 9:26.

In the storm tossed sea are the nets of God. They suggest God’s sovereign control of earthly vessels.
