This Tower of Babel image was bonded to a stronger support (rag paper) using a printmaking technique called chine-colle. It is a monotype and therefore it is unique, a one of a kind image. EL refers to the generic Hebrew word for god. In Scripture EL refers to Yahweh, but it could be used to refer to any god. BEL refers to the shortened form of Baal, the pagan Hebrew god. BABEL is a combination of Baal-God.
