MENE – God has numbered the days of your kingdom and brought it to an end
TEKEL – you have been weighed … and found wanting
PERES – your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.
I used gesso and then beeswax to attach my paper shades curtains and the newspaper’s daily narrative assault of mounting covid deaths. The vertical dark lines in the shades formed The Tower of Babel to which I stenciled the warning binary code (like the mysterious handwriting on Belshazzar’s palace wall), YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED.
