The Return of the King / The Watchman

This painting began as a figure on a wall. As I worked, The Watchman” guarding the city of God, came to mind. Watchful watchmen are needed to diligently guard the Word of God (see scrolls to the right) and the City of God. But the figure suggested someone riding a horse (or a donkey) who was breaking through the wall.
This King, who came riding on a humble donkey at the”Triumphal Entry,” will one day return riding on a battle horse. Revelation 19:11 “Then I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.”
