This painting is one of seven pieces from the Christmas Invitational at the Asheville Art Museum ’93. The title is taken from Isaiah 9:2 foretelling the birth of Immanuel – “For unto us a child is born,” (v.6). The center tomb-shape which is torn in half has a red figure on the left and a gold rising figure on the left symbolizing the God who conquered death. Across the bottom is a time-line centered on the coming of incarnate God into time and space. He is the focal point of all time and history.
