Painted for the Invitational Exhibit Cherry Bounce: The American Elections in August 2016 at the William King Museum in Abingdon, VA. Forty-five artists were each given an American election. I was to paint the Nixon/McGovern race and to incorporate both election posters. The focal point of this painting is the lying lips and “swamp monster” Babel with Nixon’s Watergate tapes hanging on it. Below is the box of ballots found in a Buncombe County barn from an earlier rigged election.
