“Come, You Who Are Thirsty”

“The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.”  These words are written into the lower part of this painting. They are taken from Revelation 22:17, the last chapter of the last book of God’s Word. The God-man, Jesus himself cried out, “If anyone thirsts let him come to me and drink. Out his heart will flow rivers of living water,” (John 7).
