This piece began as a demo for a workshop just before Good Friday. ( See my blog post about it.)

The top of this painting like most of my work alludes to the heavens. As the injustice and the human condition play itself out on earth, God reigns above. I attached a slash of gold leaf, where a figure emerged to the side. The figure was not intentional, but it was a reminder that God oversees the affairs of men.

He reigns as king over the affairs of men. “Revive Thy work O LORD. . .Thy mighty arm make bare.” The arm in the original image became very significant to this painting.
