Jesus, is God’s Lamb, or the Lamb of God, begotten of the Father from eternity. He left the glories of heaven to walk the dark earth below. He became a man to rescue his lambs as the perfect unblemished sacrificial Lamb. He is both The Lamb and The Shepherd.

Isaiah writes (40:11 ), “He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather his lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.”

In the New Testament, John writes about Jesus:
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep (John10:11);
“I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep (v. 14).
