The base for this encaustic painting is also a drawing I did from a model. I added several photo transfers of text, one from an article on heart transplants which reads, “Heart Devices.” (It is visible near the center of the figure.) The lines of the figure and the lines of the Latin text at the bottom of the piece are incised into the wax. The Latin text reads, “Nondum considerasti, quanti ponderis sit peccatum!”
