Gold leaf was first applied to this panel to suggest the eternal narrative. Twelve figured emerged standing on a shore. They are blue like the sea suggesting that they too are made by water like the world itself. (2 Peter 3:5n “For they deliberately overlook this fact that the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God.”)  Unlike Anselm Kiefer’s recent exhibit at the St Louis Art Museum called, “Becoming the Sea,” I believe that God breathed Adam and the world into existence; and He resurrects our earthly bodies to eternal life. He is the resurrection and the life! He is the “Living Water.”
