This painting was inspired by a newspaper image labeled “HU – The Human Element,” suggesting that humans are merely material—just another element on the periodic table. In contrast, my painting reflects the Incarnation: when Creator God . The WORD made flesh (became a human element) and walked on water. He rules the seas and all the elements it contains. He brings life out of death.

The top part of the figure is made up of words/breath and the Name of God. It evokes both the mystery of matter and the miracle of grace.

This painting will be traveling to LUZ Gallery in Venice during the Biennale there in May 2026
