This small painting with a gold floater frame is a tribute to the victims of 9/11. A scrap of newsprint is embedded across the top reminding us of the reality and historicity of this tragic day.

The two shafts of gold represent the two towers. They stand within a square which is also central to this piece. The square is a reference to a sanctuary or holy place where God dwells — the Holy of Holies in the tabernacle and then the temple in the Old Covenant.

In the New Covenant, the Bride of Christ is described as the city “four square”coming down from heaven from God, Revelation 21 “…and I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes,. . . I saw no temple in it, for the LORD God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

I pray this painting will bless those who have lost loved ones and give them a glimpse of the hope revealed in Jesus as we await the consummation of his return.
