Taberah: (Hebrew -- a burning.) Taber-nacle comes from this word. John 1:20 "The Word became flesh and tabernacled among us." In the Old Testament God came down to dwell and lead his people in the desert. He protected his people by a cloud of fire by night as they escaped the Egyptians. His fiery presence met Moses in the Tabernacle or Tent of Meeting.
This God, a refiner's fire tabernacles / dwells among us now by His Holy Spirit. It is the subject of this painting. Jesus, the Son of God, has broken down the barrier by the cross (the dark band) connecting the burning glory of heaven with the cleansed refined people on earth!
